Do you find yourself complaining and nagging about everything? You’re not alone…I ask God to help me with this daily because sometimes I find myself unintentionally complaining about the smallest things. I’ve learned complaining will not solve or change anything, it rather makes you more frustrated.
Instead of complaining about everything we should learn to be thankful. That is something I am learning to do more and more. Every time I want to complain about something I rather give God thanks. We must remember the words that come out of our mouths are very powerful.
Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that death and life are in the power of the tongue. Complaining projects verbal poison into our situations. We should learn to give God thanks through the good and the bad.1 Thessalonians 5:18 tells us to “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”. NIV
It is definitely easier to give thanks when things are good, but we have to learn to give God thanks through the tough and challenging situations. Just remember all that God has blessed you with. Personally, God has blessed me with so much, and there will never be enough money to thank Him. God doesn’t even ask for much, all He asks is that we acknowledge and give Him praises.
God is so faithful and awesome. He wakes us up, allows us to go out and come back safely and protects us from the things we don’t even see. We are honestly sometimes so ungrateful. Maybe God hasn’t answered that prayer that you have been praying for the longest, that doesn’t mean you ought to complain. No, thank Him in all things even when you don’t understand. Believe that whatever you have prayed for at Gods perfect timing He will answer it.
Let’s learn to stop complaining about every little thing. Stop complaining that you don’t have this or that. We should rather give God thanks for what He has blessed us with. We must learn to rely and rest in the Lord and stop throwing poison into the atmosphere.
Lets take a minute to thank God, Say this simple prayer:
Lord thank you for being all that I need. Thank you for being my rock and for caring for me even when I don’t deserve it. Thank you for loving and remembering me. Thank you for providing for me and keeping me safe. Thank You Lord for being so wonderful, and so awesome. I know that even when I don’t understand things or feel confused about something I can always run to you. Lord thank you for everything and may I trust and love you more and more.
May The Lord help us to stop complaining and to accept that He is God and is in control. May we find our rest, peace and joy in the Lord. May we learn to give God thanks and appreciate the smallest things, the people, and everything that God has blessed us with.
I know learning how to be thankful can be difficult and a bit of struggle but remember we can do all things through Christ.
